THE WATERING HOLE EXHIBITION ARTWORKS

Hello again, thank you for being here. If you're reading this, it means that you signed up to see the artworks I am releasing at the Watering Hole exhibition tomorrow. As most of you live abroad or in different counties in the UK and can't make it to the exhibition, I figured it would be only fair that you get to see them online. If you did want to see them in person, come join us for art, photography, guest speakers, food & drinks on the beach from 12 - 8pm in Perranporth.

Most of these artworks are brand new, however there are a few pieces I released earlier this year that I wanted to display at the exhibition too, that's why you're seeing them here again.

With the Summer Solstice and my 31st birthday all happening last week, it has been a beautiful time to work on a few very different things. Especially the 100cm circle "Run Wild, Live Free" and the 110 x 80cm rectangular piece "Alive" felt like refreshing ways to celebrate this new phase of the year and life in general! Believe it or not - I was pretty moody and angry when I laid down the first layers of "Alive." I was getting frustrated with how I've outgrown my current studio (I still love it, it's just too small for the sizes I want to make) but luckily Ant was there to help me set things up properly so I could immerse myself into these new pieces. As soon as the first layer started coming on, I felt the negative emotions dissipate and transform into excitement.

I always pour my heart and soul into each artwork, but these new ones feel extra special to me. It's weird to say this about my own work, but they are some of my favourites yet. Maybe because I felt their process so deeply or because I love how I'm able to use my techniques in a new way. Maybe it's both.

I secretly don't want to let go of them yet... But on the other hand, detaching myself and releasing them into the world for other people to enjoy is a beautiful process too.
