While we are shifting into Autumn we are holding onto every last glimpse of summer here in Cornwall, we are currently being gifted a few beautiful days of sun and stillness. It might be the calm before the storm that is probably awaiting us as we head into the darker months... But for now we're enjoying these unexpected crisp days while we can.
This past Summer has been a good but weird one; I was supposed to visit my family but with all the travel restrictions it became nearly impossible, so instead I worked my ass off in the studio and at my biggest project so far (the big floral mural).
A few weeks ago my body sent me signals, telling me to slow down. In fact I had to put things on hold completely for a few days. Rather than fighting it as I normally would have done, as scary and horrible as it was, it was also the wake up call I needed to realise I can and must slow down sometimes. As much as I love working, it doesn't mean I always should be. I've been actively focusing on being more present in the moment. I've read six books in the past three weeks, I've barely touched my phone, I've been sleeping better than ever and still spend time in nature whenever I can. When big travel adventures are cancelled, we have to find beauty and adventure in small moments and the places around us. This requires curiosity and creativity.
I've always wanted my art to be quality over quantity. What I bring forward and share with you all are pieces that I create wholeheartedly - it's never about 'smashing them out' like a factory for the sake of creating content.
This is the first of two mini releases. This first one has a more Summer-inspired colour palette. Pastel pinks, yellow and coral, deep blues and turquoise. The second series which I'll release next week, honours the rich, moody hues of Autumn and the darker months ahead.

Hey Zee, wonderful hearing from you. The amount of work you show here is fantastic. A lot of hours in resin! but the great thing is it's all Sold! Wow! really good! That gives you some legs to make more or to ravel or whatever you decide to do. That's such a great feeling! I am really happy for you. Just don't work too hard.
