THE TELEGRAPH TRAVEL FEATURE

This is a non-art-related blog but still worth a share because it's actually quite hilarious (especially if you know us personally...)

A few weeks ago, Ant and I had the opportunity to stay in a luxury barn cottage in the valleys of Dartmoor, in exchange for a shoot with a photographer of the Telegraph Travel... Little did we know, one of the photos would end up on the A2-sized front page of the Travel section.

Giggles about how hilarious this all is aside, we had the most magical few days at Upper Barn Cottage in Collihole farm. This place is an oasis of tranquility, wholesomeness, peace and quiet. We were greeted by its kind owners Luke and Caroline, their pack of dogs, a bottle of champagne, fresh flowers and locally made treats.

Surrounded by national park, cows and farm fields, this cottage is the ultimate escape. A place to switch off and reconnect. I can imagine this would be the place a writer would stay to finish their book... you get the vibe? It's actually advertised as a honeymoon cottage, which I can 100% understand because it's just so romantic, private and beautiful.

We lounged and read books in the garden, explored the reservoir on a walk to Dartmoor forest, we cooked delicious food, explored the shops and pubs in Chagford village and just sat around enjoying the peace and stillness.

You can book this gem via Boutique Retreats. Here are some shots & a little video that we made during our stay. And yes, we drank a lot of coffee because they had a Nespresso machine and cute cups (haha). And honestly, when do we ever get to drink a morning coffee in a half-open barn door while looking at cows grazing?! (tap arrows or swipe)
